ABOUT THE Crystal Robinson Marion

Crystal Robinson Marion was born in Fresno, California, and brought up in Compton, California. She was reared by her mother, whose unwavering faith, strength, and commitment to prayer became the foundation upon which Crystal built her life.

She is the proud sister of an older brother she affectionately calls her “hero” and a younger sister who, over the years, has become one of her closest friends and confidantes.

Crystal attended Lincoln High School before continuing her education at the University of Oregon. She later graduated from Portland State University, a milestone that reflected her perseverance, determination, and commitment to lifelong learning.

A woman of faith, Crystal believes in the transformative power of healing, self-discovery, and authentic human connection. Throughout her life, she has navigated seasons of joy, heartbreak, growth, and restoration; experiences that continue to shape her writing and creative work.

Crystal is the proud mother of two biological sons and has also opened her heart and home to many sons through foster care. She is the loving grandmother of a biological grandson and treasures her Godchildren and God-grandchildren as cherished members of her family.

Known affectionately as “Auntie or Ms. Crystal” to many who do not share her DNA, she has a gift for making people feel seen, welcomed, and loved. Whether through family, friendship, mentorship, or simple human connection, Crystal believes that love extends far beyond bloodlines.

She is an author, poet, performer, speaker, and founder of Talking Life LLC, a creative arts, publishing, and performance company dedicated to sharing stories that inspire healing, hope, faith, and transformation. Through writing, spoken word, theatrical productions, publishing, and community engagement, she creates spaces where people feel seen, heard, valued, and encouraged to embrace their own journeys.

Healing to Love is her testimony of becoming, a journey through brokenness, awakening, and restoration that invites readers to reconnect with themselves, their purpose, and the God who created them.

Crystal currently resides in the Pacific Northwest, where she continues to write, create, mentor, and inspire others through the power of storytelling.
